MS1000 GOLD
Re: MS1000 GOLD
The 2250 including one endplate was 150eur. The polishing for it took about 2 hours. I guess it will be a rough 400 to 500eur for the surfboard.

Please try to follow me.. I think something to do with the length has something to do with it as well. A ms1000 and bigger will not come out the same as a 17inch. This is what was told to me before I started mine. They hook something on each end and it passes threw the sink and the longer the object is along with the depth of the fins makes it a harder task.. This is what the guy that did mine said.. Mine still ain't rite.. My FRANK sink is finished. I had someone else do it.. It's in airazona. I'll post Picts when I get them.. I think it's done..
Re: MS1000 GOLD
a bigger piece would require more electrodes hooked up to it to allow the current to flow but from wheels to frames I have not heard that it could be "too big" or would not work as well as a smaller piece. Might take more work but I really think your plater was just lazy....
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

The guy doing the stuff for me is a good 60 years old and has grown with the business. He´s doing stuff like that since the late 70ties. I´m pretty sure he is aware of all the stuff related to plating.

I have seen them on tv and they always say,"you can't just dip it!"

Re: MS1000 GOLD
okay having a moment here...and seeing knowing hearing... yeah you guys are right... these guys here i brought this sink to are jokers... i have a half of mind to go back and leave this sink on their desk and demand money back or at least pitch a bitch about it... i would have when i p/u but was in so much of a rush, nor was the owner there at the time...
it was first time i ever had used these guys, but they did come highly recommended...also they were the only ones that said they could fit the sink... i tried like everbody/plater from boston to albany, and everyone said the 57" long sink wouldn't fit in their tanks.... this was the only place. iirc i think that it may be tricky to find someone else, but i bet they are out there... i mean bumpers get plated for christ sake... why wouldnt/couldnt this fit then
I will/want to say more and share more now, but i have to go deliver rims to customer bbefore 9am... its 8 right now... so ill be back...but yeah
the silver lining behind all this is that the sink in pics, that they plated, was a dead sink, and just done up for sample [before/prior] to doing pedis sink....thank god eh? granted i paid the 125 for the fuked sample, but at least we didnt spend the 550 for the surfboard to be done and get same results... so thats the dealio ...
the surfboard sink was checmically stripped, and/but in between the fins the coating was giving me a real hard time and wouldnt / didnt want to come off with the acid... and you can not keep the aluminum in the acid for longer than 20 min or so, otherwise it will eat at it and make it look like swiss cheese, so i did the prescribed time for the stripping, and was told by the plating company that it would have to be like glass beaded or something... so i 1st went with an 80G glass bead, brought sample of blasted sink to plater guy, and he looked at it and said that it was too etched/grainy etc too much of a blasted profile and wouldnt net good results... so after a little research, i found that the 175G glass bead is the absolute finest on the planet, and thats what i ordered and blasted the bottom of the sink with... the top was done with what we normally use in booth the AO. so i did as instructed/suggested by plater... but they're fricken idiots down there... never going back unless i have this sink in hand and ready to pitch a bitch.
