Need help bridging a 475ti

Post by ShockTherapy »

I've tried with no luck to bridge the amp but am having no luck. The manual gives little reference to this. Can someone please let me know where to plug the rcas and the speaker wires to make this work! I want to bridge it to my midbass at 250x2. Right now I'm using 75x2 and it isnt enough. Do I need any special adapters or anything?

Not necessarily with this amplifier, it has the ability to use only one set of RCA cables.

Plug one pair of RCA's into the front input. Set your input switch to "F". Attach the left speaker to the Front Left + and Front Rear - speaker outputs. Attach the right speaker to the Rear Left + and Rear Right - speaker outputs. Set your crossovers to either LP or HP depending on what you need and set the FREQ the same.

In the manual is states to use left positive and right negative. So it is telling me to run one speaker wire set to the front and one to the back. What you're telling me to do is to take my positive and negative of a particular speaker and split it between front and rear channels. :O I'm confused.

he is saying put the rca cable in the front input of the amp turn it to what was said and than you can bridge the speakers the way the manual tells you to
your making a 4 channel amp bridging the channel and have 2 channel output with 250x2watts rms not 75x4

I see... If you read his post above he had a typo when dexcibing where to put the speaker wires. confused me a little. I tried pluggin into just the front inputs then installing the speaker wires as stated above and it didnt work. Using y adapters was the only way it functioned properly.

Yep, sorry, I had a typo. Should say Front Left + and Front Right - for the left midbass and Rear Left + and Rear Right - for the right midbass. It will work without a Y adaptor this way.

I've run a 475 this way before. You don't need y-adapters. It will really drive a set of 6.5 mids in mono.

Yes sir I have. I do however appreciate the help on this one. I ended up using my Zapco Z300 to power my midbass... It does a very nice job btw. Thanks again!

I'm glad you like it. I still feel a little remorse for selling it. :( That amp sounded like much more power than rated.
