RCA wiring question

Post by capitolj80 »

I'm positive this is a stupid question, yet i feel compelled to ask it anyways. The mono amp that i have in my trunk for my subs right now doesn't have aux rca's to send trough a full range signal to a second amp (only an additional set for stacking). However, the Ryval 2-chn I just ordered for my doors does have the auxiliary rca's. Do i simply want to put the Ryval first in line and the mono second (rca's coming from Ryval aux out), or is there reason why that isn't optimal or not recommended?

as long as you are not sending a low-pass(bass) signal that will be fine.

if you have the outputs on your deck you would be better off running a new rca cable. By disconnecting the subwoofer output you will no longer have any ability to adjust it if you did have that.

yeah, losing my ability to control the sub amp was something i was concerned about..i was really hoping to avoid running another set of rca's (thus the use of the aux rca's). I do have and remote level knob for the sub amp, tho....i dunno, i'll figure it out.....lol i'm still pissed that two days after i bought the ryval v520, I fould out i could have gotten the rsd250.2 for 3 more dollars...fuck...oh well :)

Even a $10 set of rca's will suffice for this and you will be happier that you did it too...

Cheap, but really nice.

decided to go with an additional set of rca's :) oh btw, with the Ryval V752, should I try to utilized the 100hz HP filter (seems high to me)? or should I just go bypass on the amp and use my stereo's built in adjustable HP filter (thinkin around 75-80hz)? wadduya think?

Really depends on what speakers you're driving...and mostly what size they are.

it also depends on what kind of music you listen to and how you listen too it. Keep the signal clean and out of the clipping/popping area and you will be fine. your ears are the final judge.
