Yesterday I bought a brand new SD500.4 for my new install in an S2000. Now Im looking for an 8 or 10 sub. The SL series looks interesting. Anyone know how the SQ is on this thing? Subs I have had and liked are things like the idq v2 PPI pro flat piston and type r subs.
I've narrowed my new sub to the SL10 typeR 8 and JBL GTO804.
Anyone try the SL series subs?
Re: Anyone try the SL series subs?
You would want the SL10d2 (not d4) and wire those coils in series for a 4 ohm bridged load to the rear channels.
The SD500.4 will deliver about 250watts, perfect for that SL10.
The Type R 8 looks like a very nice driver although I haven't played with one. It has a tad more Xmax than the SL10 but SL10 has more cone area, so its a bit of a wash on paper.
We have done really well with SL woofers, due to the fact that they have impressive Xmax for a slim driver. Most of the slim drivers on the market have very limited Xmax and really can't deliver the low frequency impact most users are expecting.

Re: Anyone try the SL series subs?
Thanks for the reply Morgan. I will give the SL a try. Local dealer didn't have the D2 in stock =( Will have to go in later in the future and try again.
