my box

Post by nutxo »

It turned out pretty cool. People said 2feet would be easy. 3 would be hard and 4 would be impossible. I cut all the curves and built it in the trunk and accidentally got 4 cubes. I actually had to cut part of the box off. Its cool though. I know next year I might be able to squeeze an 18 in there......

My eyes burn from the mdf and I think I swallowed a pound of dust but I might have everything in tomorrow night :-)

Just got my box done and installed yesterday and it's freaking awesome. My camera bit the dust so I'll have to get ahold of my moms.

I'll take some pics with the phone tomorrow and post them in my own thread.

So, did you get that feeling that it was all going to turn out right or screwed up?

dude, It was insane to build. No plans building it piece by piece thinking it was gonna be to small then having to cut it down.. At first I was ecstatic and gonna try to use it at 4 cubes then decided to stick to the specs. The carpet wasnt what I usually use and it ended up not great but the box fit so well you cant see it. The subs dont point the way I wanted em to and neither did the port.

It looks awesome and is gonna sound good.

Pics are kind weird. The subs are like 4 inches away form the rack.

What year Camaro is it? I had a similar box in my 97 Z28, but went sealed with a single SSA Xcon10D2 and that sub bumps runnin' off a JL Audio 500/1v2. Need to take pictures of the box, but attached is my "Bitch"

Its a 95. I ran a dcon 10 last year and it was pretty rambunctious. This is LOUD. I mean not like 150 loud but loud enough that you really cant have it turned up for long without saying to yourself " This is to loud. I must turn it down" maybe even an " Ow, my ear hurts"

only sat in one car that blurred my vision, 4 x-max 12's and 2 zx600's in a acura legend. IT also rattled one of the large 6 ft long flourescent lights out of its fixture. Thankfully it was next to the car and didn't do any damage other then scarring the crap out of us. Imagine it - BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA POOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!(white smoke/vapor). I nearly shat myself. 3 months later he came back and I guess the bass/vibrations rattled the trunks locking mechanism loose so he could not open it. Needless to say a box with 4 12s doesn't leave room to get access through the seat....
