Noise violation

Post by nutxo »

First time Ive been pulled over in 20 years for stereo.

It was funny as hell.

Cop " you know why I pullled you over? "

Me " No Idea, I dotn think I was speeding."

COP LAUGHS HYSTERICALLY " I could hear you from 200 feet away"

Me " no way? You could hear that outside the car?"

Then I noticed his name " I know someone with that last name"

cop " Yeah who?"

Me " Robert. He did surgery on my shoulder"

cop " Yeah. He died 2 years ago"

Me "OMG. Im so sorry. He was a great guy"

Cop goes to his car and returned with a ticket for no proof of insurance. I had old papers in the car . He let me go with a warning on noise violations in Ruston. 500 fuckin dollars he said. Then he gave me shit for not signing my registration that was another 160. I gotta go to court and show my papers now and probably pay 65 bucks.

I feel lucky :-)

Another bullshit citable statute solely for generating revenue 90% of the time. Residential, heavily populated business district (like a strip mall), and areas with heavy pedestrian traffic, OK maybe I buy it. Mostly though I think its just one of those things they use to pull someone over that maybe looks suspicious but isn't actually doing anything wrong.

Nutxo, what state are you in? I thought most have the ability to check on your insurance status on the spot now. I can't remember the last time I was asked for insurance card with my license and reg. when pulled over, its been at least a few years. Anyway, try to grab the cop before you go in and court starts and show him your stuff is legit, sometimes if its a busy day they will be looking to get some of the dumb shit off the docket and the cop can have it dismissed if he so chooses in almost any traffic court. Saves you the court costs that way too vs being heard by the judge.

cops find alot of big fish by pulling people over for little stuff. If I am breaking the law I am not going to complain about a cop ticketing me and wanting to check out who I am and what I am doing. I have nothing to hide most of the time :)

I HATE washington cops. 99% of them are complete dicks. I have been down in La for 4 years now, I have got one ticket for right turn on red (didnt see the sign) In washington I averaged 6 tickets a year... :idiot:

the cops in az didn't bother you unless they were called, the photo radar did all the ticketing for them. The only time I got pulled over was after my mustang sat in repair for long enough that the registration expired. I had purchased a temp plate online and printed it out(good for a week) but forgot to tape it to the window. Of course that day then I didn't get 1/4 mile before a cop happened to pull up behind me and notice. I showed him the plate and told him I forgot to tape it on as I was just excited to get it running and wanted to try it out and they let me go after running my license.

now the town I live in is a suburb of a larger town and the downtown section has 100 yr old roads that are narrow and in some areas get down to 15-20 mph limit. There are 3 places listed in this small town on speedtrap.com last time I checked and they are right. Cops don't have much to do here, make sure you are not more then 5 mph over...

The last one I got was in my 1993 toyota xtra cab.I had just got done putting a 575 hp chevy small block in.I didn't have the cash to put flowmaster muflers on at the time so I ran headers two 2 1/2 straight pipes.I rapped on it a couple of times in town BAM ticket.I was loud though.I got the ticket droped with a reciept from my buddies shop showing I paid over 600.00 to fix it.The cop liked that I paid that much to fix my truck  Stereo wise I couldn't bump my shit with out getting a ticket.
