Older Audiobahn amp A1504DP

Post by smgreen20 »

Rated:
150 x 4 @ 4 ohms
300 x 4 @ 2 ohms
450 x 4 @ 1 ohm

So they say....

Was given to me and it's dead. I see what's wrong. But I don't know what the BLUE "block" is in between the fried resistor and the Audiobahn logo is. Help?!

I have a few amps that should be easy repairs and I'm waiting to place an order of what I need to help with the costs. S&H blows at some places.

capacitor. Notice the part number starts with a C in C520.

the real question is why you are spending your time repairing audiowhatever.... :)
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

This amp is the last of their good days. Kind of like LANZAR then vs now.

I get sick everytime I open an amplifier just to find cheap components (especially caps). Capxon are notorious for failing, am pretty sure G-Luxon falls in the same catagory. I wouldn't dare mess with any crappy amps - unless the owners is willing to pay for repairs....I would just throw it away or donate it, lol. Good luck though, keep us posted on your amplifier's proccess.

Edit *The capxon caps that fail are used in home equipment such as: DVD Players, LCD TV's and that type of equipment is used for longer periods of time that a vehicle amplifier. So what I've stated is irrelavent to car amplifiers, just wanted to make that clear.*

ttocs,

Also wanted to say thanks. Forgot to say that in my previous post.

I didn't realize that C meant capacitor and R meant resistor. Now I do.
