Has anyone compared MS amps the big ones vs the little ones on subwoofer duty SQ wise?
I'm thinking of using a MS-275 on a 12" 3ohm sub in a ported box. Would I be better off getting a MS-2125 or MPS-2500? I don't need the extra power, but I'm worried about SQ and control. After all the big ones have 3 times the output transistors and double the power supply.
My current 2ch sub amp has the sub connected to just one channel because bridging it ruins the SQ. I would have to bridge the MS-275 because it hasn't got a channel summing function.

MS amps on subwoofer
I used a ms275 on a kicker xpl 12 and I had a ms2125 running the fronts. This sounded better than my ms1000 running the same comps but with an idmax12. It was not nearly as loud but with the 275 but sounded better. The reasons I stop running it was the surround tore on the xpl and I got a good deal on the ms1000.

Re: MS amps on subwoofer
If the sub is rated at more then 500Wrms, the ms2125 will certainly give you the better result at 3 ohms brigded....
witch sub do you have ? a jl audio ??
i compared in the past a M100,zx500 and a ms2125, and the ms2125 was for me the best result....
It "pushes" more on the sub.... tests were done at 4 ohms and 2 ohms brigded......
but i remember i was also impressed about the little ms275 result on a subwoofer.....
i wouldn' hesitate using an ms2125.... an original ms2250 is even better.....
that last one "pushes" even more on a sub then a zpa0.5 !!!! at 4 ohms brigded......
that test i did also .....but with the fan shroud......and heavy batteries of course
just connect and try it out. you're ears won't lie to you......
