Got a set of positive and negative Phoenix Gold battery terminals that I need to get off. They are old and been damaged from corrosion, and have been in there for probably 7 years or so. They look like this one right here.
There is an allen bolt on top that does not appear to tighten anything of importance. There are two located on the side, towards the front of the bullet end. I suspect these are the ones that tighten around the battery post. They are froze solid, and I cannot seem to get these to move at all.
Can anyone confirm these are the ones that need to be loosened?
the big one on the end is just to add ring terminals too and slap on there if you need more outputs. Yes the two on the side are use to loosed/tighten it. Try some penetrating oil or wd40 overnight and then try it in the morning.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
keep the terminals clean from skin oils or they will corrode even faster. I have two sets in my mustang and ANY time I touch them, I polish them.... Even just over night or a couple of days and you will see your fingerprint in the finish.

Oh we are way way past that point. . Now the best we can do with them is sand them down and powder coat or some other kind of finish. Or round file them. Now its going to be function over aesthetics.
