Ok, so i finally located an EQ230 for my install. It was local, decently priced and best of all, in real nice shape. I just have one problem. The balanced input on this unit shows the round plug on the S/S, but has the square RJ style port. It doesnt appear to have been changed as the hole in the steel is square. My understanding was that the 232 had the RJ style input specifically for the ZPA's. I bought it anyways because i am fairly certain a simple plug change on the cable will allow this to work for me. Is this the case? There are also some of the peak indicator led's missing so it would appear someone has been inside.
This was a demo unit from my local PG dealer back in the day and still had their old label/price sticker on it which leads me to believe it has never been in a car.
The led issue is not a big deal to me, but can anyone confirm that i can swap cable ends and be in business?

But did a 230 ever come with that style input? I have never seen one. The hole is square and it hasnt been cut or filed out. There is still white paint on the edges. Doesnt appear to be blended in anywhere either.
Oh well, i have pretty much decided to build my own Lpl as well so i will just crimp on the appropriate end. Iirc, this is NOT an RJ45 end. What exactly is it?

It does pose another small problem though. The cable i have with my Tba1 set is a BLC cable. This diagram says it will not work, i need an XBC cable to replace one end with a BLC. I have not checked fleebay yet but i am hoping they are commercially available.
After looking at stock photos, i am also sure this unit is a 232 with a 230 cover on it. The pics of 232's i found were also missing the peak led's. When i remove the cover, i expect to find an XBC balanced output port hidden behind the cover.
Thanks for the replies gents.

So i took the cover off today and found what i expected to: the telling RJ45 balanced output hidden behind the cover and no green/yellow led's on the input side.
Heres where it gets confusing.
I dont know what to think anymore. Pretty sure no one would go as far as to forge the serial #'s. What for? The only explanation that makes sense now is..... special order. I assume thats what this unit is.

or someone took a nice top cover off a broken EQ and put it on that one that might have been damaged. I have an MS2125 that has second gen (with master/slave ports) on a gen3 PCB, so I have 2 empty holes on my endplate. Came that way when I bought it. I agree with wooferdog, use the diagram to make an adapter. the plug you have on the EQ looks like RJ45 standard network jack, and the one on the top plate looks like a PS/2 mouse or keyboard plug. Im sure you have some computer cables that you can try.
these are pinouts for a keyboard, but it gives you the plug layout
If you use a TBA-2 ballanced line driver, it should have the same plug as the EQ-230 you have. And the TBA-2 cable should plug strait into both your EQ and the TBA-2 line driver without any modifications to EQ or the cable.
