Hey all
I have a bunch of amps
Titanium 600 2 ch and 500 4 ch (night be 475)
Black zx 500. / 475 / 475
White zx 475?
Ill have to double check model numbers but ya get the idea
1. Are the titanium sq better than the zx? I notice they went away from hold plated boards. To be honest I personally don't think there's much in it between them if there is. Second opinions?
2. These are obviously aging now and I'm guessing I should consider replacing caps on them. What's the best to use?
I'm about to do an install on my new work car.
I'm interested in the new elite series pg 5 ch as I use active 3-way alpine 9887 but fir time being I will use 4 ch and 2 ch bridged.
Running Boston acoustic pros and waiting on a 555 Boston sub.

Re: Zx and titanium amps
The "HF" capacitors have leaked and are highly recommended to be replaced with "FC" capacitors. The 475 and the 500.4 are pretty much the same amplifier with little changes (capacitors, the 500.4 doesn't have the "HF" series in the filter section...wish I could be more detail but I only have a 500.4).
Am pretty sure other's with more experience with both amps will chime in.

Re: Zx and titanium amps
Cheers tricky. So only HF caps need replacing?
I also forgot to mention last time I ha the titanium amps connected I was getting fan noise into the audio signal. Anyone encounter this type of problem.

Correct only the "HF", you'll be in for a surprise when you see how bad they leak. So be expecting it.
Was the fan noise with the RCA's connected or without them? I ask because it could of been your HU that was causing noise. Also its a good idea to clean the pots and switches with DeoxIt as they might be dirty and cause noise or unbalance output (one channel higher than the other).
