Re: The Phoenix Gold Crate Project, Outlaw and Bandit amp ra
So here are some updates on the project. I have already gotten the Bandits back from repair, a big thanks the Tricky Ricky on the forum for a fast turnaround. The burnt bandit got a new board and the other Bandit got new caps.
I did some of the stenciling today, here are some construction pics. I am going to start aging the top tomorrow.
When I move out of mod street I may try this in the bed.
The stencils will look much less bold after I distress them tomorrow.

That stenciling looks really good, can't wait to see the crate "aged". Keep up the pictures and the good work.

I really like all the effort going into a simple part like this amp rack! Kudos from overseas for taking the time to get this done!

Looks great! What do you have planned for the nail heads? Rust paint or maybe flat black paint? What process did you use to age it? Flame? Coffee?
A few of these and a few of those.

I hear if you pee on them and leave them in the sun they will get a nice rusty patina to them. < thought we had a peeing smiley to go with this, this was as close as I could get.

That looks very cool. very nice way to present these nice old school amps!!! One way I have heard you can distress wood is too beat it with a length of chain. The kind you hook a dog up to. The ones were both ends are looped back and twisted is the middle.
Thanks
