Q&A for me
Re: Q&A for me
I have the split loom now. But it looks like shit.

a quick google search for techflex dealers brought me to electricalhub.com first, but there were a bunch of others.

Re: Q&A for me
Stupid question, I recently got some xs d3400 batts. But they have a small Allen head bolt instead of the standard agm mount.
I need a top mount post to install my pg terminals. What's the easiest way of making this work?

Re: Q&A for me
Can those Allen bolts be removed?
Re: Q&A for me
You remove those bolts and there are screw in posts that will make it like a conventional battery.
I don't know who makes them anymore, I did this about 12 years ago on an optima where I put them on the side post location (with those same battery terminals).
The ones I had were made by a company called Tiff. I'm sure they are long gone, but I'll bet you can find them at either an auto part store or maybe an online retailer for car audio install accessories.

A few of these and a few of those.

Ahh. Ok maybe they won't work.
Are there side posts on that battery?

Re: Q&A for me
Edit: You want an adaptor to change that to a big post. Is this what you need?

Re: Q&A for me
XS Power makes the posts you need and is battery dependent as some of their batteries have different threads. check their website or the Bay as they sell them and think it's about $14 per set.

Re: Q&A for me
I'd get the posts from the battery maker since XS makes them too. That way they're guaranteed to work with your battery.

Re: Q&A for me
Just found them, thanks Bryan.
I didn't see them when I looked earlier. Apparently I can't read.

Re: Q&A for me
I had to do the same thing on my small kinetic. What I did was cut the top off the fat terminal and then drill and tapped a hole in the center of it. I actually tapped it half way though and then found a piece of threaded rod that matched the smaller thread and rammed it through the hole. With it being tapped half way through the part that was not done made for a really nice/tight fit of the threaded rod to the terminal. Then I just cut off the rod to length and screwed it on.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
Re: Q&A for me
That's a good idea too, but I already ordered three sets from xs.ttocs wrote:I had to do the same thing on my small kinetic. Thanks for all the help getting what I needed.
