Ok I bought this amp off a guy on ebay. He said it worked but when I power it up the 4 red leds on the circuit board light up. Here are some pics. If yall know what I can do to fix this please tell me.
Looks like something might be faulty obviously. I know that the Ti amps "working lights" are the 3 blue leds in the triangle above where it says PG. Also I know the old er MS/MQ/MAC/and MPS line have red LED's similar to those when u remove the bottom plate, But its more to tell you the amp is operational. Now Im pretty sure its a sign of a short or something of sorts. Im sure one of the tech vets will chim in on what the lights exactly mean.
its funny as the other night when I looked back at my amp(LE octane) I noticed on the highs side that those same lights were on but the amp was playing....... Try hooking a speaker and a source up to it and see what happens.
dwnrodeo wrote:I believe those LED's are to signal that everything is working properly. The Ti500.4 I had did that. When they don't light up then you have a problem.
they are, hook up a speaker.....
screw car audio, I'd rather go fast....errr, wait a minute.
I thought those red led are for when there is a fault with the amp and the 3 blue leds on the cover are for when the amp is working properly. On my other 3 ti amps 2 600.2 and one more 400.2 none of the red leds like in the pics come on. Only the 3 blue leds come on and I know for a fact that those three amps work.
Anyone else have an idea or knowledge. And thanks to those that have replied.
I have 3 install 2 400.2 and 600.2 the red light do come and stay on when the amp is working. The tri light are just for show
I had to replace one on my bmw amp as it worked fine just the lights went out
most of my gear is gone :liar:

Yup, the red led's are normal. They replaced a standard diode in the ZX amps signal chain. The only red LED that means bad things have happened is the one on the lower right corner of the board that says OVERLOAD. Or, if one of the little red LED's go out, then bad things have happened as well...
