Will an MS275 run 1 ohm bridged?

And be stable. back in the day I know we ran these things crazy, so I believe it will handle it just fine. anyone have different thoughts?

Yep just flip the switch from Hi-voltage to hi-current, this lowers the rail voltage so you can run low impedance loads.

aren't you confusing the ms, with the MPS? I thought the MPS was better at low impedance and its been a while but I thought the current switch was for strapping them? Like I said its been a long while but pretty sure the mps was better for the low impedance.

Personally I would not do it. The amp is stable at 2ohm bridged and the red/yellow switch can help if you have thermal problems. At 1ohm bridged you will just stress the amp and possibly ruin it. Even with the switch in the high current position the amp is not designed to work at 1ohm bridged. The MPS series is.

Your only possible solution is if you run your subwoofer(s) in a sealed enclosure and you can verify the load isn't actually 1ohm. You can use software like winisd pro to determine the actual load impedance. What kind of subs are you thinking of running?

A single 2 ohm dual voice coil 12" I could go 4ohm I suppose. The PG SL12d2 or SL12d4

What does the internal Yellow/Red switch do on my MS275?

All MS275s have a two-position switch in the middle of the circuit board with a red dot on one side and a yellow dot on the other. At the factory, the switch is set to the yellow position. The red position will limit the power supply voltage and allow for more output current. This can improve thermal performance when the amplifier is driving low impedance loads (2 ohms bridged). This offers an alternative to installing cooling fans.

Yeah you guys are right, the minimum for the amp is 2ohm with the switch on the red dot to allow for more output current. Best option is to run it at 4ohm mono if possible.

the ms is hot a hell at 2ohm do not do 1ohm or it will get damaged

keep the ms275 for speakers..............

its possible but of course not recommended by most if u want amp to be efficient and last u must have enough current feeding ur system were at full volume ur not dropping below more then 1 volt also u will need to have atleast 2 in space all around the amp with atleast one fan pushin and one fan pulling air around heatsink I personally run my pg ms 1000 at 1 ohm bridged with 2 fans pushn and 2 pulln and I play full volume for 30 min str no problems and b4 I installed fans the thermal protect would kick in after 15min so there built pretty well to prevent damage however I personaly agree with using a class d amp when I can afford one I will be using that instead of the class ab
