Could my Elite Crossover be killing my tweets? or is it me..

Post by gentlejax2 »

I now have one bad Elite tweet and on the way to work this morning 1 of my Exil tweets died...

I pulled the tweets out of the Exile set I got and used them but I used the original Elite crossover that came with the Elites

I checked my Alpine xover setting and the highs are crossed at 80 with 24 db slope....

I double checked it ...

so could there be a problem with the Xover.?

really hacking me off.....

the Exiles werent new so they may have be ran hard before me...

Check the specific cahnnel for DC voltage while playing at the same listening level.

TiDEQ rev 1 has a tendency to nuke the right tweet, but the Ti Elite XO's shouldn't be a cause of damage.
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

You have something funky going on.

How long did the Exile and Elite tweeters last in the system before failure?

What amplifier are you using?

Exile 25mm tweeter failure rate is very low. 2+ years of shipping and several thousands sets in the field. We have RA'd a total of 11 bad tweeters (most of them abused or physically damaged).
