panel alcantara you can stretch in one direction and has no backing, cover is thick, white backing and good luck trying to get it to stretch. you probably used cover it was a pain, due to the ease of panel stretching.

i tried a few jobs with cover and was like WTF... had plans a-z running through my head in case I couldn't pull off the install

You say KEF. I cannot find any info on KEF Mobile products. I have this link, but nil info on these products or any mobile hardware.

http://www.kef.com/

Can you assist at all in directing me to a web site? It's appreciated. I'm not sure if these were even sold in Canada and perhaps imported by the car's previous owner.

My ride came with:

Qty 4 - KEF KAR 160M - 6.5" Mids
Qty 2 - KEF KAR 25U - Tweeters
Qty 2 - KEF KX3 - HF-LF Crossover

Image

All are outstanding products. The 160M's hit you right in the chest when powered by a PG MQ430 (inside a FAS). Love 'em.

the KEF part of my system is the KE-5 active x-over (by coustic), very sweet piece and very flexible for an analogue unit.

i used to have the 160m and 25u components a few years ago, again very nice but the focals leave them for dead

Not really. I just like to have the manuals/specs etc. for all my pieces. Not critical.

I have seen and heard KEF home speakers for years. Nice product. While I was stationed in Germany, our PX had reps from all the bigger electronics companies host shows in the store several times a year. I remember one time the KEF rep and the Pioneer rep, (after a few JagerMiester schnappers) hooked their best to a Phase Linear (Carver engineered ) 800W amp. Huge power for those days. The Pioneers smoked at about 30% volume. The KEFs held on through to 80% before disintegrating. Phase Linear was high end in those days.

I was surprised to see mobile KEF in my ride after I bought car and then opened up the cavities to see what the hell was pounding on my chest. I didn't relaize KEF ventured into that realm. I guess they dropped their mobile line.

Just seen your install. Nice like it a lot. Marko get that 2250 mono on your cyclone! It will blow those ID'd away for low bass. Hoping to have my cyclones in and ready to compete on the 15th july. Spent far to much money on nostalga! time to get it playing.

ok, my first post on this forum and I choose to ask something :)

Ok, here goes:

I can see that You only use one of the two RCA contacts, am I right?
It also looks as if You have bridged Your amp, correct?
If yes, have You tried using a RCA split to connect both RCA contacts?
I´ve been told you have too do this if you bridge your amp, otherwise you only use one side (i.e the left side) of the amp...

Am I wrong here or...?

Sincerely
Rutger

hi rutger, those ms275's are indeed bridged (one each on midbass  ). with those amps if you bridge them only the left input has to be connected, the amp sums the left/right when switched to bridge mode.

there's more that enough power for midbass duties either way!

PS- has anybody noticed my terminal blocks are upside down yet

Yes, but we were too polite to mention it ;)

Damned fine idea actually! I bet wiring would have been a PITA without.

took me ages to do 4, it's reversable as well apart from you would have holes in the plastic housings, install would be a PITA without it and things like basic servicing etc.. i didn't do the ms2250 as i wanted to keep this 100% original as it's a minter with original box etc..
