I haven't had much success on finding the difference between these amps. Are the Ti's just newer versions? If they are improved versions, how are they improved? Would I be better off using Ti's?
I currently own a ZX 450, a ZX 500, and a ZX 600Ti. I was wondering if it would be worth getting a ZX 500.4 Ti to replace the 450? From what I've seen, the output specs are the same on both.
ZX or ZX Ti
Re: ZX or ZX Ti
It's the same differnt the ti use the newer caps That don't need to be changed the zx and tizx need the caps changed

Re: ZX or ZX Ti
Like kg said, only ti model doesnt need caps changed, but the zxti will need the m changed.
Now the big diff between the zx and zxti/ti are....
*zxti/ti dont have gold boards
*zxti/ti have a diff xover config than zx
*zxti/ti is rated closer to actual power
*zx are more under rated
*they all have almost the same actual power output

Re: ZX or ZX Ti
The difference between the ZXti and the Ti series is the silkscreening on the top of the amplifier.
One says "ZXti" and the other says "Ti"...
Internally they are the same.

Re: ZX or ZX Ti
Well and the ti doesn't need recapping, all ZXti amps I've seen had HFZ caps in them.
A few of these and a few of those.

Re: ZX or ZX Ti
I am guessing some do, and some don't.
I had a ZX600Ti and a Ti600.2 side by side on my test bench before, and they were identical, aside from some resistors were different colors (different brands maybe).
I am sure that as with all other PG amps, even exact same models will have differences depending on when they were made.

Re: ZX or ZX Ti
They both had the Nichicon caps?
The ZXtis should also read "zeropoint" in the window while the titanium a read "titanium" in the window. If both read titanium then you either got one where someone swapped the board or PG had an extra
Zx600ti case after they started production of the new boards.
I do agree though that the difference is primarily cosmetic.

Re: ZX or ZX Ti
They both had the same caps, but I don't know which ones they were (don't remember). They were not like the ones normally found in M, MS, MPS, ZX and ZPA amps. I did not change them, as I saw no reason too.
I don't remember if the silk screening on the board was different. Even if it was, I would probably not have noticed unless it said something really out of place, like "MS Series" on the Ti600.2.
It is entirely possible the amps were both using the same boards, but had different chassis.
