I cam across this pretty good youtube video... http://knowledgefest.org/attendees/item ... -next-step
I was wondering if any of you would have any video links to share? The type that educate people in terms of car audio and whatnot. I knew a lot, but learned a few things watching this one.
I also recently learned about the DD-1 by Steve Meade designs.. that's a nice simple piece of gear, and I put it on the xmas list alongside a portable scope. Also realized that those RTA apps are a nice better than nothing to have and use vs a crazy expensive RTA.
Alongside the DD-1, the CC-1 is also a nice appliance to have! Sure makes life easier tuning car audio. And like Larry said.. get in, get out. More geared towards audio shops, but none the less, they're tools that make life easy and fast.

I enjoy referencing and using basic car audio electronics website: http://www.bcae1.com/
There's plenty of good information to help with understanding concepts to installation and tuning tips.

I've poked around on that site before.
One thing I would like straightened out is the whole 2 battery setup without using an isolator.
This Steve Meade guy. He re-did a Chevelle on his site. The part where he omitted the dual battery isolator .. I didn't quite get, or he didn't explain it well enough, or I couldn't see the wiring layout properly, or all of the above. I suspect he could do that with 2 identical batteries, with the same age. But mixing batteries.. I dunno if one could or should.
I also liked his idea of powering everything, including the front deck, to the back on the bus bars he made. One grounding point. One live point.

an isolator is only needed if you want to run the car with the batteries and then still want to start it. Otherwise as long as the batteries are purchased together and matching its not needed.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
