I am doing a system in a reg cab silverado. the amps will be xenon 100.4 and 400.1. I have an idmax 12 but will have to fight for space for the driver, would consider the rsd but the box requirements would also be unruly. any ideas how the zr12 would work and what kind of performance to expect from it. any ideas what this driver compared similarly to

it is a very good all around woofer. it sounds very much like the RSD down to about 35hz, and then rsd's low end starts to out do it.
on the other side of the coin, it will likely have just as good or better sub 35hz output then other comparative 12's in a 3/4 cf box.
they don't need a big box, but keep in mind they are quite a deep mounting sub (more then the rsd anyway) you might do a quick measure
another thing to consider, especially if you intend to buy a used one. the Tantrum X is the same sub with different cosmetics.
also: a rsd 10 would be the smallest of the 3, and would have a pretty similar response curve. if you aren't that much of a bass head, that might be the best option.

Welcome.
You could use the RSd 10 as Bfowler stated in fact you could put two in less airspace than a single 12, but if you can squeeze 1.4 then I would say you will be very happy with the single RSd12, they have earned a warm fuzzy spot in the hearts of many.

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.
IMO (I have owned rsd and idmax, been around zr plenty to know how it performs)dejo wrote:how do you think the rsd12 would sound with the 400.1 and about 1.4 for box volume
RSd>ZR<IDMAX
RSd=IDMAX
fyi 1.4 cu ft will be more then fine for the max. I sold mine to the forum king stipud and hes loving it in 1 cu ft. I tested mine in 1.5cuft worked perfect. And if you need few extra cu ft invert it not like the basket isn't dead sexy.

yep, especialy at 4ohms, it will have ~450dejo wrote:thanks guys,
do you think the 400.1 is enough power for 1 of em
they can take as much power as you can give them, but anything over 300 will give you great sound.

thye will take a shit load of power, i had my 1 12 rsd powered off of a x1200.1 giving it about 1300rms with no problems at all, not bad for a sub that is rated at 500Bfowler wrote:yep, especialy at 4ohms, it will have ~450dejo wrote:thanks guys,

being a bass head, I liked the rsd for low volume listening, but it didn't get quite loud enough for me...
the max I think can ultimately louder ported... but I havn't tested one so I couldn't say for sure. my buddy likes his pair of rsd12's I got him ported off a single x600.1, but I'm trying to get him to get another x600 and see what it can really do

i played w/ one rsd off of a ms2250ta @ 2ohms ~1500 watts in 1.8 cu ft ported and lets say it was silly.hawaiianbasshead wrote:being a bass head, I liked the rsd for low volume listening, but it didn't get quite loud enough for me...
