ZPA 0.5 voltage input??????

Post by dcmcki »

I would like confirmation that the zpa's "NEED" 8 volts of input signal. Unless you have a 8 volt preamp HU (ie Eclipse higher end units) you "MUST" have a line driver of some sort!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

They "NEED" the 8 volts for the optimum output. I believe that's why the TBAt's (Balanced transmitter/receiver) were made. Look into one of those to put near your HU. Line driver will work fine also.

Scroll down and read the last/or close to last paragraph.

I was contemplating adding a zpa0.5 but dont have a line driver. I do however have a Eclipse HU that is 8 volt output and was wondering if this would serve that purpose. :?

I would say add it. It will save your gain/sensitivity on your amp. It will keep you from pushing it harder than you have to, prolonging the life of your amp.
