New trunk install questions

Well, it's almost that time of year again and I'm getting the system redo itch. Right now my trunk looks like this:

I know, I know, it looks like ass. This was my first set up in this car, and now you can see why I want to redo it. It actually does sound pretty good, bit I want a little more thump in the trunk. That is why I'm upgrading to a x1200.1. But enough about my lack of skills for now, I'm thinking about doing something along the lines of this (thanks tsonka):

Now, what I'm wondering is how would I port my sub is a setup like this? I'm thinking about a box size of 2 cuft tuned to let's say around 28 hrz. I'm going for SQL (isn't everyone

). So, has anyone done this before? Any tips? Thoughts?

yeah
you could just use flex port from jl audio
or buy elbows from your local plumbing supply store so you can bend it
to fit in the box.

then all you need to do is figure how you want it to look from the top.

how does one have a sweet PG amp and end up with some low end JL subs?

I would think that we all have to start somewhere. But, for all I know thoes subs sound sweet!

Personally I have never heard a JL sub. Is that rare for someone who has been into car audio for about 3 years now?

i bet they sound really clean
iused to sell jl audio.

good product and it just seems everyone thinks they are so overated
yet they still dominate after all these years.

Where do you guys put your beer, tools or groceries? I'd be so afraid of punching a hole in a sub using those setups. And no trunk space and no spare tire. What do you do if you get a flat tire?

I used a step ladder from a kid's bunkbed to quasi protect my sealed XMax12 triple. I use milk carton type containers when I'm carrying anything small enough to get through the bars. And there's a factory donut spare under there too.

That is what the G/F is getting a Toyota FJ cruiser for!! I allready can't get hardly anything in my trunk anyways so what the hell!!??
