Brian's new kicks

Post by Bfowler »

I came, i saw, i conquered. i came. wait er....forget that part.

anyways i loved my old kicks, but they had a problem with rattling because the vynil had come undone in a couple places and on certain bass notes would be extremely irritating.

Special thanks to Errin for letting me borrow his air saw....i almost declined claiming "i can just use some shears i have....I'm super glad i didn't

the end result is great. they don't sound much different. the sound stage has raised a bit, but there are no rattles at all! and the added leg room is a bonus.

also, i didn't take pictures of the factory panel over the speakers yet. it looks like a stock e36 kick panel though so nothing to impressive, just stock looking

basically, but his was imaged better and he went through a ton more work to do it.

i just cut out the factory 5.25 holes bigger and deadened the hell out of it.

he cut away the panel so he could mount the thing all the way in the corner and then built a sick ass custom interior panel

it was a pretty controlled hack, plus it was partially based on errin's suggestion.

not to mention, there is another pretty decent installer in my cube...me

i wont really worry to much about your comments though considering you don't even have a system in your vehicle.

Ok here you go…. Audi A4 = B5 platform

R32 = A4 platform

Justification = Because I can !!!.....that’s the only justification I will ever need.

Don’t hate just emulate.

By saying the R32 is just “a v6 a4 with the back cut off. Congratulations”
Is like me saying congratulations your 3 series is just a grown up mini or a 5 series shrunk down by magic pixy dust.

Point being, your logic is flawed. Now if you said your R32 is just a Audi TT with a hatch or an Audi S3 with a different badge you would have been closer to hitting your mark.

In short

you fail.

thanks for playing come back soon.

I don't want to derail this thread very much but hell, it's already been derailed.

The R32 looks me to like it has a TT engine in a (slightly modified) Golf body. I understand some of the subtle differences between the look of a Golf and the look of an R32 but you'd be hard pressed to find normal people be able to tells the difference or notice the visual differences between the Golf and the R32.

That said, most people also can't tell the difference between a 3 series and a 5 series BMW...

I don't know where I was going with any of that. Just comments.

just because you are about the same age, doesn't make you Winston Churchill.

rofl, i don't know if comparing your car to a TT helped your case any  you probibly should have stuck closer to the A4

i don't need convincing, i don't really care what you drive. it seems like you are upset with your own cars engineering shortcomings and trying to convince yourself that you aren't some sucker who paid a premium for repackaged car with a limited production.

also, may i remind you who came into who's thread with no other goal then to fling poo.

don't know if you noticed but the thread sort of moved on without you.
