RJ-45 outputs on headunit. WTF?

Post by nick-caper »

I got a Denon headunit and it has RJ-45 outputs. They are balanced. The RCA outputs are not balanced. Anybody know what I can use on those balanced RJ-45 output?
Thanks

You can get an EQ-232 as it has an RJ-45 balanced input.

Does the ZPA line of amps use this type of input? How about any crossovers or processors or maybe a line driver?

Probably. There's also the TBA2 (I think that's what it's called) receiver that does RJ-45 balanced... don't know about the ZPAs though because I always see those for sale with a TBA T/R combo... I haven't checked the manual though so don't quote me on that.

Yea the really expensive rare units do. They seem to be the same as the type PG uses. I wont know till I plug them together. Worse thing that could happen is I break one or both of the units cause the wiring isnt the same.
But since they are both RJ-45 I think it will work.

the RJ-45 is just the plug and the twisted pairs crimped to it could be of any configuration.
but i think since denon and PG do have some history working together
( the rare PG HU is a denon rite) , their RJ45 wiring is probably is the same. Just a guess.
but have u tried emailing Denon support on this ? could help.

Yep... TBA's ZPA's (incl. ZPAXO), EQ232's etc. all take RJ45 balanced. Note that the early EQ230's have a PS2 style plug... you can convert the connection if you want though.
