In line fuse holder or circuit breaker, and fuse size Q's.

Post by mr tibbs »

I'm starting to gather install stuff for the FJ install. The only amp I will be installing is the x200.4 that I got from Vin (thanks again). So, I have never used a circuit breaker before, is now the time? If so how big for the x200.4? Also, I will be getting a fused distro block and using both of the inputs for the x200.4, how big do the fuses need to be for both sides?

As always, thanks for the help guys!!

Go with a circuit breaker!! If you ever need to work on anything all you have to do is break the circuit with a switch. Very convenient.

At least 120 amp circuit breaker since your amp's fuses require that much (X200.4=120 amp fusing) .

Then two glass or mini anl-depending on the block you use. 60 amp each times two= 120 total. 60 amp for each run.

You could also under fuse the amp, which is what I did for my X1200.1. Instead of 2 times 60 amps, I did two times 50 for a total of 100 amp fusing to the amp.

Let me know if this doesn't make since.
