Post by pgmaniac »

So i will need to drill a hole into my firewall that will allow me to fit 1/0 guage wire through. Does anybody know which size drill bit i am going to need to do this?

I use a step drill bit and go big enough until the grommets I use fit.

all depends on the size of the grommet your gonna put back into it..

i would invest in a unibit that goes up to one inch and like stated above
just drill one step at a time untill it fits.
You may have subs in your car........but my doors sound better!

What kind of car?
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

X2, I fished it through a larger factory grommet so that I didn't have to drill into the firewall again. Maybe you can find an already existing spot to fish it through.

Its a 2006 lancer ralliart. There are no existing holes in the firewall that i can go through. I have my wire temporarily running through my fender right now.

Pop the drivers kick panel off. IIRC Mits runs all wires through the fender to the kick area. This means you in fact do not have a grommet, which is what I was needing to know. suXoR.

Look at home depot, they carry some GreenLee items, one of which is a step drill similar to a Unibit, however it has a dual cutting edge and a smaller shank on the larger bits which Unibit does not have, this will allow you to use the larger bit in a standard 3/8" drill instead of locating a 1/2" just to poke a hole.
