I'm in hopes that at tax time I can sell this POS Pioneer HU. It's acting up on me now and the warranty just ran out last month.
So, what I'm loking for is something "high end" that has built in xover/eq and as high as a signal as I can get.
The Clarion DXZ775USB looks damn good on the specs sheet as well as the no brainer, the DRZ9255.
The 3rd HU I'm looking at (mostly this one) is the Eclipse AVX5000.
Any other HUs I should look at.
Must have AUX in if it doesn't have a screen.
I need it to be able to expand w/a video system in the near future.
Looking for a new HU

I forgot to mention, I hate Kenwood. That might be a bit harsh, but I'm not to fond of them. How's that?
I found this as well. Eclipse AVN5500

Why kenwood refuses to put three wya active on their decks.
Well of the 1-2% of users in the world that may need 3-way active there are several better ways of going about this relying of the HU.
Keep in mind you can accomplish 3-way active with the HU xo's and the amp XO's combined.
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

Not hard feelings.
You may dislike Kenwood but I dislike Eclipse, however I have install experience and user experience as well as general market experience with both units, I guess what I am saying is I know a bit about both units and have grounded reasoning for like and dislike of the two.
If price were no option I would purchase and install HU in this order
Denon/Nakamichi
Alpine F#1
Kenwood excelon
Kenwood
Alpine
Pioneer
Clarion
Panasonic/Eclipse
Craig, Pyramid, Pyle, .......
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.
but it is so much easier and efficent to accomplish it with a three way DSP all to be controlled at your finger tips. How hard or expensive is it to add an extra HP and LP to DSP that's already there ? I just dont get why they dont do it.VW337 wrote:bdubs767 wrote:VW337 wrote:For the dollars you can't beat a Kenwood KDC-X5xx model.

But smgreen, since your using the ti elite set go with what errin said. If I didnt run active the Kenwood Exceloon would still be in my car. I've owned a lot...
Kenwood Excelon top of the line deck in 05 think it was xxv-01
Alpine cda 9835
Alpine IVA-d900 w. Alpine PXA-h701
Pioneer Priemer PRS 880
Clarion DRZ-9255
And to be honest the easiest to control, best aesthically, and best functions minus the three way was the kenwood excelon.
