Driver view - '93 Thunderbird Super Coupe

Post by HoseHead »

This is the driver's view. I placed the HU in the factory CD cavity and made a custom panel for listener controls installed in the factory HU cavity. HU is set flat and all "custom" levels are adjusted through the dash controls.

- HU - Alpine TDA-7558 w/ CHA-S614 CD Changer (in glove box)
- AC Four1.i Line Driver (has a Aux input for MP3 player etc.)
- Left pot controls an AC Epicentre
- Centre pot controls LPL for PG 406A (FAS)
- Right pot controls an AC ESP2 Spatial Restoration

- FAS 2125 (bridged) powers Qty 3 XMax12 in a sealed enclosure
- FAS MQ430 (stereo) powers Qty 4 KEF KAR 160M 6.5" mid Bass drivers
- Alpine MRV F300 (stereo) powers Qty 4 Clarion SRH205 tweeters

Here you go, Pedi:

Dated photos though. Changed the knobs on the custom panel. FAS is still shrouded in spruce wood. A peek at the KEF's (These 4 drivers can be felt right in your cockles) XMax still the same. It sounds incredible, just needs cosmetics.....one of my upcoming winter projects. I'm building another identical car right now. Each installation improves my skills. I have my wood shop near complete. Then you're gonna see some craft. :D

Jeeez, what a country you guys live in!!

Did the FAS really include the car when you bought it???

In Norway, you hardly get a HU sometimes when you buy a car...

Vinyl? That be baby soft leather....... :D

Pedi - Yes, The FAS and related hardware was in the car when I bought it. AS noted, I didn't really know what was in there until I got it home and did some research.

Thank you. The FAS is such a monster that options for installation are limited. I'm doing another identical car right now (progress pix in the Car Audio thread) and am trying to configure it so I don't have the huge subwoofer box to contend with. Heading up to the wood shop now..... :D

You should switch the lights in your Four.1 to green, in order to match your interior lighting colors.

Nice console... Spock would be jealous.
