Oh, I'm sorry. Did I say Gophers? What I should have said was GOFAS.

Remember that MPS? well it's changed a bit since you last saw it.

First step was some new end plates. Dremel Stylee.

Oh, and a House Of Kolor red metal flake over black paintjob.

Then some identifying marks.. Just incase you werent sure like.

Inside (note it's matte black on the inside of the endplates.

And the outside of the same plate.

Lettering is like diamondplate red....

Then it came time to rebuild it, and it fought me all the way. The speaker posts I was going to use broke (one of the 4) and they werent something you can go get because they came off those 6x9s. So I went out to Radiocack and got a proper block.

Note these pics were taken outside so you can see the quality of the work gone on here without flash.

And what will be coming in the mail to go on the new plex window.

And that should be here within a day or two

i must give you props for your creativity, you come up with some wild things and not all of them float my boat, but again
creative..

now if it were me i would have maybe had someone cut me the stickers for your endplate so thta it would look more straight and even.

other then that go for it.

The lettering was from walmart, wasnt even $2 IIRC..

they are on straight, I laid them out and then put masking over them to get them in position. The problem is that they arent the best cuts, and some are thicker/taller than others.

I only did them so I would have something to see when the amp is 'finside' up because otherwise it would have been deathly plain. With the new graphics tho (the GOFAS ones I hacked from the original) I am probably going to relocate the amp so I can show it off, and I think I have clearance in my spare wheel well to put it in the freshly covered wheel cover.

Not sure, but at least the amp should be all ready to go now..

Very nice... but why are your terminal blocks mounted on the outside?

I had these spring loaded posts. They were all nice and stuff..

Well when I was bolting them to the plate I stripped one, and they were irreplaceable because they came from those 6x9s I blew up in the back

The problem was I had the whole end designed around those, so changing it all around at the last minute was close to impossible..

So, I went to Radiocack and got what you see, I think it was like $3. It's a connection block thing basically, and somehow the wires had to go through the plate from the outside into the inside. So I drilled some 1/8 holes right above one set of connectors and ran some wire from them through the end plate and into the amp, then they soldered onto the 8awgs inside..

That wasn't as it was planned to be, it was a bit of a last minute "oh fuck, what am I going to do??!?!. It turned out well in the end though

Anyways I fitted the system this evening, and it sounds utterly amazing. Thanks to everyone for your advice, you were of course spot on. Using a nice low powered 10 on the ZX was DEFINITELY the way to go. One 10 sounds better than the 18 did. I cant believe I am saying that but its true. It hits like a ton of bricks and drops like the titanic. It seems to be at least twice as deep as the 18 was, SHITLOADS warmer. Doesnt have the same hard hitting power though, but you can tell it's being fed lots of wattages...

I love it, and Im going to try and get a video soon...

Couldnt possibly be more pleased in all honesty

I forgot to say... The connectors are surface mount only, they dont come through the 'back' so to speak. I suppose the thing is designed to bolt down to a flat surface and then you use it to connect wires.. Kinda like a regular connection block but it's not completely isolated with just a screw showing.

X2 the do it your self speaker block I can sorta understand taking shortcuts but why have the power/ground/remote terminal block on the outside? its supposed to be inside.

There is a crack in the power block that aims back to front. On the outside no stress is put on it, on the inside it was only a matter of time before it broke off.
