Also any ideas why 50hz and above has such little output?
yeah your box is too large sealed... that is why you have good low end reinforcement but your upper bass sucks......
you could put it in a smaller sealed box.
You may have subs in your car........but my doors sound better!
I assume your sub is DVC? You might want to make super sure that the wires are hooked up properly in parallel.
If you want to test the small box theory, throw some styrofoam or 2x4 pieces in the box to take up some airspace, then re-test it.
I am running both of my RSD12's at about 1.1cuft each, and they sound great off of only 250 watts from my Ti500.4.

Yes, incorrect gains on the SLD will definitely cause problems.

Acoustical stuffing is also a great idea. It does a lot to reduce cancellations and standing waves inside of the box.

i still think 1.8 sealed is large. 2.1 is fine if your using it for lower end reinforcment.
i would think that 1 to 1.2 would be a good enclosure sealed for that driver.
1.8 would give you alot more bottom end but at the expense of upper bass output due to the characteristics of sealed enclosures.
what does pg recoomend sealed for a rsd sub? spl, normal, musical

improper gains shouldnt cause a sound difference in your music other then when the point that the inputs become oversaturated with voltage.Capital_M wrote:yea, its a dvc, i took out the sub just now and checked, the wiring is all good.
Could improper gains on amp and SLD be the problem? is it also a problem that the rca for my sub is damaged on one side and only have channel running to it?
starts to distort. it shouldnt cause your amp to play lower bass stronger then upper bass.
check to see if you have a bass boost turned up at and if so what freq? and how much.
also i would try to see if putting that woofer in a smaller enclosure helps.

So i bought a dmm and tested the votage at basically full volume just for y sub amp, i gotta do the front stage too as i know that one is fucked up too.
at 55/62 volume which is high as it is, im only getting 47V and as to my calculations, my x600 is putting about like 825 watts which mean si should get a reading of 57V
I remember now my installer said he set them lower becuase when he turned up my TLD66 he got noise in the system (there is no noise right now)
Im gonna set all the gains proper and take it to another shop and see if they can get rid of the noise

you could put some blocks of wood in your box to test that without building a smaller box. marc, I'm not attacking your judgment, but i don't think that is the problem. guess it doesn't hurt to try though
