This pretty much sums up what I think...

Everyone I've known who bought that car ended up fucking it up due to driver error.

Here's some more good advice from the same mag:

Right now Nissan is having trouble with their motors burning oil. From what I have read they know there is a problem, but are trying to sweep it under the rug. I don't know what motor is the problem prone one, but I would do a lot of research if I were you. I compared the Infinity to a car I am looking at and found these problem, look around man!!

That's weird... my best friend was a mechanic at Nissan for a couple of years. He now works for a really upscale tuning shop.

He said those 3.5's were a work of art, and pretty much bulletproof. I have only heard of one engine being replaced in his entire shop for the whole duration he worked there, and that was for a completely different issue.

Yep, it seems to be a problem. Like I said, if you look around on the forums it's a bigger problem that Nissan would like it to be. I first heard about it in the Altimas', but apparently it's a problem with other motors as well. I'm not sure if it's all the same motor, but it's deffinately a problem. :(

hmmm, you know i have a bias to bmw's...

so i would find something like this:

http://www.stevecarter.com/m3bmw.htm

and if you are wating "new"

the bmw 135 or 335 coupe will eat the 350z alive. and they are all proper 4 seaters. in fact, the 335 is even available in 4 door and/or AWD

lol m3 and rs4 cost $60,000 plus....The a nice used Z with around 20k miles on it can be had for around $19,000. To be honest I dont really care about going fast, nice to have it when you need it but with my driving record I cant afford to have any more tickets.

2 speeding tickets, 1 for lane volation, 1 totaling of a car, and a dent in my friends car.

Alrighty, Brenz is gonna hate me, but go get a damn Lexus IS300. It's a damn 4 door Supra, same engine block with a different head. BAD ASS CAR MY FRIEND!! That will be my next car without a doubt. That damn engine has soooooo much potential. I wish it came in an all wheel drive, but I guess a rear wheel drive with the LSD will have to do. Also, people are dumping them right now for the new IS 350, you can pick one up for a damn good price.

I wont pay over $20,000 fowler....so a decent "newer M3" out of the picture.

Has to have under 30k miles. I would prefer for it to have left over warranty too.

The Lexus IS300 is nice but it's a damn "ghetto" car around me in Mass. You really shoudl see how people bticher that awsome car with body kits, ever type of light possible, and sony xplod products. But lexus is known for being the most reliable car which is a biggie for me, plus i think it carries a 6 yr 60k warranty...

It's a damn sleeper for sure. That motor is a powerhouse to say the least. There aren't that many here, so I really haven't seen them to ghettoed up. I can see how the tuners would like to hack up this car, but to each his own I guess. Personally I like a car as sleek as possible, so I try to not put to much stuff on them. Brenz has one, and he is doing some mods and I can't wait to see the pics.

I've been meaning to take pictures of the IS300 at my friend's shop. Absolutely BLOWN 2jz motor... it's stunning.

Brian, they have some nice BMWs as well. Dinan clownshoe M3's (z3 AND z4 chassis) and supercharged 07 M3 as some of the regulars...

IS300 is a little out of the range :(

Nissan 350z is still the only thing really catching my eye and really gets a good bang for the buck. I knwo the two seater is going to bite me in the ass though if I did it.

Well then....i think 350 Z it is. i cant think of anything else in that price range with that kind of reliablity and low miles, and that level of performance.

I love the m coupes. surprisingly big inside considering they are a z3 in a hatchback. and retardly fast. the "Car and driver" specs and times on them DO NOT do them justice

No more three way for me. IMO 2-way with the right drivers can do everything a 3-way can. In the Z I would def use Scan 6600 and Seas w18nx in vented kick, with my new amp that should be here in a few days:twisted:    , and some 12" woofer sealed in the back. RSd little to big of a box so Id look at something like Dayton Ref HO or the new IDQ 12s when they come up.

I found aother car that may be little better Acura TSX, I've driven my friends and it's pretty nice and has the back seats, but it was nothing compared to the G35 coupe I test drove, pretty much a 350z. The TSX is a slightly fun ride, but that g35 coupe was a fucking blast.

Comedy option: get a Saab 9-5 Aero

With all the suspension work I have done, I actually prefer it to Wendy's mom's boyfriend's G35 coupe. It's got a much wider powerband too, with the same top end.

A newer Aero can be had for about half of your budget due to depreciation. Throw on a set of Bilstein HD shocks, better brake pads, full exhaust and ECU for about $2000-2500 or so, and you'll be laughing your ass off in luxury.

350z's are fun as hell though. I just think you're gonna crash it. Performance sedan seems more up your alley.

sorry, i dont mean a 3 way passive. use scans and add an 8 inch sub/mid in the door and xenon 10 for the super lowend.

dude...if you are looking at a tsx....you might as well get a 3 series.

or if you dont mind an auto, the acura TL is a sweet ass car
