RSD 6.5 Components

I have some Infinity Kappa Perfects in my truck right now and Im not 100% sure I like them all that much.Ive been kind of looking and reading about the PG's on some other sites and they seem to get some good reviews.

Does anyone here have any hands on experience with these speakers?The rms rating seems kind of low,what kind of power can you throw at these speakers?

I own the RSd 6" component set and I have to say they are quite amazing, regardless of the price point. Considering the price point, I think it would be very difficult to find something superior without spending a few times more cash and even then, it won't be quite as drop and play as dbubs put it.

They have very good midbass response, that'll be the first thing most people will notice. Other than that, the midrage isn't super-present but it's not lacking to any major degree.

I have my component set in the kick panels with the tweets really close to the mids and my sound stage is pretty high up with voices and instruments sounding like they are coming from head level and have very good stereo separation so in that regard I do recommend keeping the tweeter and mid close together.

Very musical, but that's a subjective description.

I'm powering them from a bridged M44 providing ~105W of power to each channel before the passive crossover eats some and they sound great but I know they can handle more and I even think someone here was throwing 300W at each side and they still loved it.

Im a little confused about power ratings though.You said someone here may have put 300 watts to each side.How is this possible when they are rated at 60 rms and 120 max?Wouldnt they blow?

I've got the 6.5 inch set, and I will ditto everything fuzzy says. Mine are in the doors, and I cant help but think they are the best component set for the money that is available.

I'm powering mine off of a zx600.2Ti. At 4 ohms it makes 150 watts per channel. I haven't had a bit of trouble with them, although, I can't wait to find the time to deaden my doors to see how they really sound.

My mid and tweet are close together also, however a friend of mine has his woofer placed low in the door and his tweet up in the sail panel, and it doesn't sound too bad like that either.

I've never heard the Infinity's, but I can assure you that you won't be disappointed with the RSD's, especially if you take price into consideration.

Yeah, I think they recommend within 6 inches of each other, but my point was that in a friend of mine's car he has them seperated and they still sound pretty good. Maybe the stereo response on his isn't quite as good, but to be honest on most songs I can't hear a difference.

Too much power doesn't usually blow speakers on music. Too little power can be equally dangerous:

The problem is clipping. If you clip your signal, you are putting your amps and speakers in stressful situations. Lower powered amps clip before higher powered, so if you find yourself turning up the volume too much, you may just need a bigger amp.

That's not to say that too much power can't blow something... it's just a lot harder to do, especially playing something as dynamic and varied as music, which will only give it peak power for millisecond duration. Now if you were blasting test tones all the time, then you might start having issues.

Awww man...i guess I should stop playing test tones then...I love test tones and play them daily. Dangit, now i need to find some other music to listen to. grrrr.

anyone have specs for 5.25" 6" and 6.5" for depth in inches or mm (prefer mm). i had the 6.5CS but they were too deep.

eBay is the major one. PG didn't (or still doesn't?) allow for the sale of RSd stuff online at most retailers. I think crutchfield used to carry RSd, but now they don't.
