PPI SIP card replacement

Post by 1moreamp »

I also have been pursuing trying to keep PPI amps in service. One of the problems with trying to keep PPI amps running is the part picture in this post. PPI has long since stopped supporting the amps that use this part, so there is NO factory support if you needed this part.

So if your amp failed this part and if you have ever searched for these you will know what I am talking about. There is no source for these, until now.

These will work in PPI Art series through to the PPI PCX US made series amps. Art, Power Class, and PCX series amps

Pictured below is the Ceramic card as used by PPI for many years < Bottom of picture>.
It is the heart of each and every channel of their 50 watt per channel and higher rated amplifiers. These parts die for several reasons.
The one pictured has been damaged by heat to the point it cannot be functionally repaired I.E. the pads have been damaged and will not take solder any longer>

The replacements < Top of picture> are built using standard technology, so the replacements can be repaired, if they ever need to be as they have been upgraded with higher grade semiconductor parts and standard SMD components that are far higher rated SOA < Safe Operating Area> then original parts and design.
No more guessing if this is the correct part, as this part is universal to all models.

The replacements will come with user installed pins that allow recessed mounting the card to fit the different layouts used by PPI. Also the new parts will be exact physical fit length and height wise so here again no guessing about the fit or finish of the replacement.

Any questions or inquiries please PM me.....C :)

Wow Cecil... that is awesome!

I wish I had a PPI amp with one of those cards in it... I would replace it out of principle!
