Neither of us have ever been there and it sounds like fun! The 'rents are taking care of the accomidations so we just have to pay airfare, food and fun money. Anyone ever been there?? Any thoughts?? The hotel is located in Aviemore, check it out:

Linky, click on the 360 tour and check it out, SWEET!!

Also, I am thinking about renting a car for the week. So far it looks like it would be right around the $400-$500 range, but I would need an international drivers license as well ($15 whole dollars from AAA). Anyone done anything like this before??

I'm going there in the summer of 08.

I have deprived myself of so much since being here that I got alot of catching up to do.. So for the first 8 months of being there I am going to go all over the fuckin place, Wales, Scotland (ayreshire) and beyond.

The cool part is I am going to be living 8 miles from the south shore of the Uk, close to portsmouth (where the HMS Victory and Mary Rose are at).

Man, March seems like so far away :S

Anyways, to my good friends (and you know who you are motherfuckers) if you ever want a real vacation to the UK (ie to the nice part, yes it does exist !) then you know who to contact.

We got 2 rooms spare, but I know fowler and Errin like to bum one another so I could put them in one..

Yeah, I'm not much of a skiing kind of guy so it looks like I will be going at the right time of year. That and it will be hovering around 90-100F here in June and around 60F in Scotland, PERFECT!!

I am jealous.........

Say hi to my relatives, if you are in the areas outlined in red, or anywhere in the northwest, I would have included Fraser but that is not wholly true as I am a descendant but the lineage breaks off as Simon, Sim, and Simpson, I am of the Simpson lot but I couldn't find it on the map.....

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

I went to Edinburgh in 2002 with my now wife to see her relatives. Bring your raincoat LOL. Its a beautiful place, food is very expensive (basically the price is the same as what you'll see in the US but the Pound is 2x as expensive). We loved it but it rained WAY too much when I was there and all teh roads in the country were washed out so we couldn't travel . Can't wait to go back again.[/img]

Errin, that center red circle looks pretty close to where I will be staying. I do plan on traveling quite a bit and trying to see a lot of the country, but it will be nice to come back to a nice small town for the evenings. And C, I'm more of a spiced rum kinda guy, but I'll sure give the whiskey a try!!
