600 ti vs my 400ti

Post by thedeal7235 »

for those of u who answered me on the subs, thanks!! But since yesterday i switched my 400 ti back in and they sound and hit better on the 400 ti than the 600 ti, the rf 10p2d4 are rated at 250 rms and 500 peak, plus i have a second stinger battery in my work cab, so, should i assume the 600 ti may be starting to go bad? cant figure it out; plus i took out all my polyfill prior to switching back to the 400 ti-???? so what does anyone think? thanks again christian

Did you properly set the gains on both amps?

It's possible that the sensitivity of the 600 was set too low and thus wasn't delivering full power to the subs on the harder bass lines.

^for sure.

details on the controls for both amps.

are you running 8awg to the amps?

i wouldnt think the poly fill would make that drasitc of a change

trust me, the bass and sensitive were set at about 1/3rd up, plus i have a pg line driver that can deliver 8volts, but those were turned up to about, oh id say 1/3rd, and half way, thats why im thinking the 600ti may be going bad?

no way, i always use 4 gauge, never 8 guage, in my audi im using 1/0 guage b/c of the 1200.1 ti-in the sierra it is 4 guage, and i also checked the voltage, with second battery it was 14.2, and when notes would hit it dropped between 13.6-14.00-so all i can think is its the amp; i mean the 400ti seems , ..... almost louder and more accurate, and the console downfiring box has about 1.4 cubes, more than enough sealed airspace-

i have the subs wired series/parrell, to be bridged at 4ohm, i have checked and checked, no air leaks; cuz if there were then it wouldnt sound better on the less wattage amp, i insured my balanced rcas are going in the right direction, ive even taken the cover off of the 600ti, i see noleaking caps, i wish i had a spare 600 ti to threw in, to see if it would act the same, all i can think is amp, or subs; maybe the rockford p210d4's sound better with less power-im not gonna take my diamond d6's out of the audi, i may see if i cant find a local shop that may still have a rsd and buy it and listen----trust me its driving me crazy too, ive never experienced adding more power and obtaining worse reults!!!! thanks for putting on your thinking caps!!!!

I've noticed quite a difference when using polyfill. It absolutely does reduce your box volume by absorbing acoustical energy (sound waves). If you're seeking a more sound quality oriented set-up than polyfill is the way to go. . .without it you have more "boom."
