RSD Comp 12D2
You can add some pices of mdf board inside the box to add volume, so that it will lower the net volume of the box. The recomended ported boxes are tunned at 23hz so you can go to http://www.carstereo.com/help2/Articles.cfm?id=31 and you will find a tool to calculate the port size, if you want to modify the port on your box. Xmax on the RSdC 10`s are 14.8mm.

yeah I talked to a guy from technical assistance. But I don't know if he was Phil. This guy just told me the box I made would sound alright. I asked him what the subsonic filter should be set at and he just said 20hz when my box is tuned to 33hz. So I thought he was wrong there. I think he was just reading off the manual for the rsdc.
Got my RSdC124 Monday, but havent seen it yet
! Had to go back to school on sunday... When I get the boxes made for it I`ll post pics.
Right now I am trying to decide how to fit a 2.5ft^3 ported enclosure + JBL GTO75.4 + JBL GTO1201.1 + some room left in the trunk of my little suzuki reno! That will be fun... we will see what happens!

So what would you guys prefer?
XMAX10 or
RSDC10?
It's going to go into my wifes car powered by a LANZAR Opti150 in a sealed box. She doesn't care for SPL at all, in fact the only reason she's letting me put it in is because it's my hobby.

I found the Xmax 10 has a lot of attack and possibly more aggressive sound than the RSD but I don't think it hits nearly as low.smgreen20 wrote:So what would you guys prefer?

The RSD10 is more well-rounded in my opinion.
What does she listen to?
EDIT: Whoops, you were asking about the RSDC, I retract my comment.

The RSD comp 12 is the best sounding sub i've owned so far... by quite a stretch. It plays all notes with tightness and authority. Second place is the RSD 10... so an RSD comp 10 might be really nice. Third place is the IDMax 12. Strangely enough I haven't gotten the plain RSD 12's to sound as nice yet.smgreen20 wrote:So what would you guys prefer?

Xmax are great for getting loud, and if you listen to nothing but rock, they are a good fit. I personally like porting them, otherwise they have very little low end. A pair of Xmax 10's at 35Hz was brutal.
If it's anything like the comp 12 though, I would hands down pick the comp 10 over an Xmax.

would a M100 be enough to drive the rsd12C in sealed ?
in the previous setup , i had a rsd1200.1 driving a single plain old rsd12 sealed and it handled the power happily , so was wandering if the elder bro would need more power or if 500w from M100 would do.

I love it on 250 watts... Bfowler says it sounds better on more power, so 500 watts should be greateyesofra wrote:would a M100 be enough to drive the rsd12C in sealed ?

My wife listens to CUNTry.
I'll probably see about getting and RSDC w/the tax return. 1st priority is an audio control EQS.

I also got mine from ebay (audiosavings) as I posted before in this thread so more people could get to it instead of hiding it where to get them...
Another subject... After asking PG if 1200wrms would be to much for the RSdC124 that I have to handle, and this is what I got from them:
The RSDC12 has 1200 watts of continuous power handling (both coils combined). The RSD1200 amp has continuous power output of 1200 watts at 2 ohms, so that should be a good match.
Interesting... Since the manual says 600w Handling power and 1200w Peak. Oh well... I will just watch the gain of my JBL GTO1201.1 II!
Almost done with the install... Should be done this weekend! During this time I have the RSdC braking in on 20hz notes... They seemes pretty tough in the begginig but now they are getting very articulated!
