Alpine CDA-7998 or Denon/Rockford 8240 deck..which one u lik

I have both of these right now....

Long story short...one of my boss's has basically put the company on the brink of closing and so my plan of keeping both is not going to fly...I will need all my toy money

I have a CDA-7998 in the bird now....and a custom powder coated black 8240 in my desk..

Aside from the processing which of these 2 would you keep and why?

I dont need any of the extra processing on the Alpine...so its purely about sound and quality....

I know the 8240 is as vanilla as can be but it is a favorite among many while the Alpine is bling bling....

I am going to need to sell one of these and I prefer it to be the one that can get the most return for me....

the 7998's are going for $325+ all day seems like...

THere arent enough 8240/8250's for me to know...lately things are getting crazy...

I have pics of the special 8240 if you want to see...

ugh....you guys are not helping me....I HAVE 2 decks in my possession...

I must sell one and kepp one.....opinions on the choices....

I dont like anything out right now.....Pioneers are not very well built unless you buy a P9

the new 800 looks to be well built. Thats why the pirce tag went up w/ no features that I know of changed vs the 880.

I would personally prefer the 8240 based solely on aesthetic reasons. I hate bling... Alpine decks are ugly as sin, and if you don't need any processing, I don't think they offer many advantages. The 7998 as far as I can tell is a pretty standard Alpine deck, which won't offer nearly the sound quality caliber of a Denon headunit.

would be a better choice.

sell them both and buy a alpine 9887 it has 24 bit DAC and more sound processing than you could imagine. It is a really great sounding head unit
