the cyclone is a old, rare, truly unique subwoofer. pics:

the best way to think of it is an electric motor that spins those black "fins" within the Plexiglas's tube to create waves of air/sound.
because it only moves one direction it is literally impossible to bottom out.
it is a truly insane speaker. the drawbacks were the design is unrealiable, and it needs a large box (about 2.5cf minimum) to work properly.
they are INSANE for home audio applications

Just thought I would share my stuff with you guys. My PG collection has dwindled over the years but I am working on rebuilding it. As you can see I also have a strong liking for the older MTX gear.
Not pictured is my zx950 installed in my car. Also I have a MTX LSX2 crossover, MTX 280 amp, and MTX 4150 amp installed in my wifes car. I have a MTX 2160 amp that is pulled apart that I am trying to find some parts to get her back together. And I have a white MTX 2300 amp and a white MTX 4320 amp in route as we speak.

Thanks! The dd5 i got from itchy and it was issued in white from PG. The ti elite xo I had painted. I had some vinyl made for the logo on top, but there is no silkscreening above the terminals on the xo. I figured I wouldnt need it since all the info in on the circuit board.

Found these classics while opening some boxes that have been sealed for about 20 years!!
Amps are 18 x 2 - Remote turn on!! Wow!!
HU is full featured with a "Line In" port - required an Alpine adaptor of course. 16W x 2, metal tape (no CD's in those days), separate Bass & Treble controls, auto dimming back lights (a front panel sensor detects cabin light and adjusts panel accordingly).
EQ was top product for 1981 - fader, 7 bands, selectable X-Over, variable sub gain - all new technology for mainstream consumer mobile audio.
I'll power these up later today and see what happens.....
These were built before some of you were born - 1980-82.
This was when owning anything Alpine was da bomb. Alpine has just started their allegiance with Lamborghini.
Every Countach was delivered with Alpine as standard audio.
I think PG was still in the scrotum - never heard of them.
