would they be an upgrade from the RSD mids?

I would say yes if you have the power and I believe they need to be sealed in the door. I've always wanted to try a set of Titanium components.

Midrange is great but midbass is lacking.

I even found the 9inch morel drivers to be lacking in midbass.

I'm currently using 6.5 elites in sealed kick panels. I agree with everything people here have said; midrange is very powerful! Nice hard snap in the snare drum frequency. I would say mid-bass is there, just not with much authority!

Ive owned both, and the rsds suited my needs better. I also attribute alot of that to the power I was limited to. In my install though the rsds destroyed the elites in midbass. After the difference was so tremendous I sold the elites. The elites do sounds a little better though midrange wise. Waiting for an rsdc component set

i have gotten the mid-range on the rsd's sounding great. i have an ass load of power and tuning capability though.

Yea they sound fine midrange wise, just not as good. If you are planning on running some kind of 3 way system with the elites in the kicks, and a strong midbass in the doors, then that may be an option. Who knows though, you may like the elites alot.

i wouldn't say the midbass sucks by any means. it just isn
t as pronouctd as other drivers.

the mids and highs are amazing! the midbass play very low for mids. i can get mine to play down to 40hz just fine.
