RMD problem???

Post by trckydve »

Has anyone ever seen a RMD show anything but voltage? My RMD was showing voltage one second and then the next it showed "hi." Is this showing something wrong with the amp or is it most likely a short in the RMD or something like that?

That means your system voltage is too high, and could possibly cause damage. Your alternator regulator might be having issues.

Upon further inspection it looks like the RMD might have been exposed to moisture or water. Could that be the problem because I tested my voltage and I'm lucky to get 13.8. Could it be from the voltage at the RCA's?

There's an adjustment screw on the back of the RMD. Hook up a multimeter to the + and - terminals of your amp, then adjust the RMD so that it displays the same voltage.
