Gain/Current/Power Wire Gauge Calculator

Post by MORTIS »

I hope this isn't a repost.

I found this site where the guy is providing a down loadable XLS that calculates your 'Gain Control, Current Draw, and Power Wire requirements.

You just enter specifics on your total system rms and your vehicle charging system and it calculates recommendations.

Assuming its calculating correctly, it might be a handy guide for us less knowledgeable folk.

Evening MORTIS :)

Hows that Ti working out for you ? :)

I think we had this posted in our How-To FAQ section as I recall. I have seen it before, and it was here, but your post is appreciated by all either way....C :)

Hello there 'C'
I don't actually have the Ti installed yet. Haven't had much time plus I had to get some 4awg power/ground wire and a few other bits. Only had 8awg in my current setup.

So far I've only given the Ti a couple coats of wax and will apply a thin coat of rustproof to the inside of the case.
The Ti is as beautiful and new as Chris said. Very pleased!

At some point after it's installed I'm going to do the big 3. I was thinking of making use of my old 8awg to connect along side the existing charge wires. Do you think that will be at least equivalent to my 4awg power/ground?

Speaking of which, does anybody know what gauge comes in an Acura RSX?
Would be nice if I didn't have to upgrade it, especially since my total system power will not likely exceed 400rms @ 4ohms while using the clarion deck power for the front stage.
