I charge those kinds of people lots of money to do their installs. Cuz when I'm done doing it the rite way it looks klean and doesn't pop fuses.

You'd be surprized how often I see that. It's almost a given when I bring in some kids 'ricer' this is how they run thier power wire. As if 'that's the way it's done' because they see it soo much.

I've had 2 cars burn to the ground in my parking lot. The one time was priceless. Kid got out and slammed his door, pissed off because I told him I wouldn't work on it, when it happened. First welded his door shut then proceeded to catch fire and all he could do is stand there and watch.

Priceless!!

Man you guys have some serious history with this stuff.
I don't really have anything to offer this thread in the way of installs, good or bad, yet I'm probably older than most of you.

Although I do find this 'Worst' installs thread more entertaining than the good ones. Keep it coming :)

What made this my favorite of the bad installs, was how awesome this guy really thought it was. He had an ego bigger than an entire football team!

Argh ! where was I when all that lovely arguing was to be had?

All you needed to do was keep repeatedly posting the pics of his install. That would have been counter argument enough :D

Oh, I see... not an amp!
I did think it had rather unusually beefy looking caps inside.

Here is his cardomain page and here is his personal forum. IIRC he was kicked off of the RF forum so he went and made his own little world. Check out this pic:

See how it says Team Gates on the door? After his little stunt Alma sent him a letter kindly asking him to take that off of his vehicle because Team Gates would not be part of such stupidity. I'm still working on the video and the letter.

Letter from Alma:

Originally posted by Alma:

Hello Sayar,

I have had some people contact me regarding your video sitting in your car without ear protection.

I watched your video this morning and am disappointed in what you have done. It is stupid to sit in any vehicle without hearing protection. For your information, I imploded worms at a 164 DB in 1997 in the original bronco. Major damage can be done to hearing and we always emphasize protecting your hearing - its called practicing SAFE SOUND!

Team Gates members has become as ambassadors to the 12 volt industry and need to continue to set examples for the youth coming into car audio. Sitting in a car play 159 plus DB without hearing protection is not doing that.

What you did in that video does nothing to promote Team Gates, and it definitely hurts the image of Rockford Fosgate. I would suggest you remove that video from the Internet. If you do not, please remove any Team Gates logos/icons from your information. We cannot and will not be associated with helping you lose your hearing . By not making this stand, we are telling people that we approve of what you are doing, and that is not true

Hearing is very precious. Think about going through life without that sense..What you did was stupid and should not be repeated. I hate to do this, but someone needs to take a stand.

It is my understanding that powers wanted to remove this video from the Internet, but hesitated because they didn't want to upset me. Trust me, you upset me more than anyone has in a very long time.

Alma
