here we go again...

Post by davidc81 »

so when i bought my car i told myself that i wouldnt put a system in it; that i would put my headunit in and thats it. i told myself that the bose system was good enough and that i shouldn't mess with it. well... there goes that! i just ordered some door pods so i can install my ti6's. and since i'm gonna put new speakers in, i gotta install an amp too! and if im gonna install 1 amp, might as well make it 2 right?

now here is my dilemma, i dont know if i want to do a stealth lower power install where i can hide the amps in one of the glove boxes behind my seat (zapco reference) or do i install my xenons (x200.4 & x1200.1) which will have to be exposed because they're so big. since i already have the xenons it would be easier, but if i do the zapcos, i would need just 1 more amp!

heres my plan:

headunit: avic d3
amps: ???
speakers: ti6 comps front, ti6 mids rear
sub: not sure??? it will depend on the amps.

what feedback do you guys have for me????

Go with the easy route and run the Xenons! JMHO, but I might be biased to the Xenons.

You won't need rear fill in a 2-seater. I would personally use a 4ch amp to power front comps and a sub of your choice. I personally recommend an RSD comp 12 or 10... my 12 is magical next to my elites. I am running both off of a single Ti500.4 ;)

i agree, skip the rear fill and find a rsdc10

the Xenon200.4 would be perfect...you can take off then end caps on em and save a little space...

That will fit both xenons I think.

Did you get nazar's pods? I have a set and for the money I spent they fit like shit. I had to spend a few hours to get them to fit right...needless to say I never installed mine.

If you want kick panels, talk to Bing on my350z!

Stipud, How does your rsdc sound compared to your elite? Is it louder or has more sq?

I have not compared them back to back. When I owned the Ti Elite subwoofer, I ran it on 1500 watts. It was crazy! I tried it on 250 watts and it seemed to laugh at that power. My RSDc on the other hand totally kills at that wattage.

How big is your enclosure? And its a 12" sub right?

I really like these subs. I have 2 of the Rsdc 10" subs. I really like them I only have them powered off a Jbl Gto1201.1 amp right now. I might get two more. But I'm not sure if I should do that or get some 0 gauge wire and use a second battery. Or get some better speakers for my highs. Or get 100square ft. of Fatmat. Have many options to choose from. Don't know what to do first. Any suggestions?

Your trunk is full enough with two. Just work on tidying everything up, or improving your install somehow. Front stage, sound deadening, whatever!

ok then. I don't have front stage right now either, only rear. I can't find good 4x6's for the front that handle quite a bit of power because I want the highs to sound loud and clear. I might go with jbl 6x9's and 4x6's. Not sure yet. And I might get the Fatmat if it gives me more bass and stops the rattles. I think the m44 will hopefully give all the speaker enough power to get loud.

4x6'es can easily be expanded to 5.25 or 6.5" speakers. Then you can run a nice component set like the RSDs ;)

What kind of car do you have?

Better yet -- make yourself a new post... let's not steal davidc's.
