guys i need help

i picked up an ipod video

i downloaded a music video

it wont go onto the ipod
saying shit like marcs ipod is not able to play this file

so i convert it using the convert to use on ipod

still it wont let me load

what the hell am i doing wrong?

Pretty much you have to get it from iTunes or have Quicktime Pro to convert it to an iPod format.

I don't know for PC's, but for Mac I use a program called iSquint to convert my video files for iPod use. If people would stop fucking using .avi as a container for MP4 video files when they compress it, and used .mp4 or .m4v like they should, it would play properly on ANY platform. It's a hack to make it work with .AVI anyways, whereas the .MP4 extension supports all the different compression schemes natively.

Also, fuck Windows Media files right up the ass... Yeah, who needs standards anyways when you can have a proprietary format that is only supported in one program. Makes perfect sense.
