The amprack/box I'm making.

Post by smgreen20 »

My first job as a self employed car audio installer.

I'm building a sub box/amp rack for an '05 Chevy Colorado ext cab. There are two storage bins under the rear fold down seats that are getting removed and that is where the amps will go. The seats rest on those storage boxes so the rack has to be strong enough to hold the weight.

The sub amp and 4 ch mids/highs amp are both Alpine amps. The sub is a Image Dynamics 10" sub down firing in a .65 ft3 sealed box.

This is my wife holding the box for me w/the XMAX as the test fit sub.

My solder job.

This is the drivers side amp rack.

This would be the passengers side amp rack.

This is how it looks from underneath.

And this would be the head on shot.

He is going to carpet it himself. He's supposedly coming over tonight to pick it up, so I'll try to get pics for it installed.

whats going in the front?

i like these trucks a ton, and down the line when i can afford a truck, i plan on doing a 8" in the kicks if possable (but will settle on doors) and my zerppint 4" set to complement them. look possible in this truck?

8s in the kicks, on the verge of not going to happen. The ZP 4"s you have should fit either in the kicks and def. in the door. The plugs in the doors are molex plugs which = sucks ass.

I can't remember what he got for the 4 corners. I asked him to keep me in mind after he gets in all in. I'm not quit sure, but he might be calling me later for help fine tuning it all.

Thats smooth.............. 8)

It also looks just right for a rest too.....

Just a thought :hmm: --- see if he'll do just the box in vinal so it looks even more stealthy. Carpet might make it look too "puffy" with the clean lines of the interior. On the chance that it's ALL PG gear, you could do raised lettering and spell "PHORD"... And cup holders would be a kool feature.
