how can they get away with that crap?!
ever bought...say...2awg cable, stripped it, and relalized it was about as thick as the last 8awg you used?! I know that getting good cables is important, but this shit is stupid. My buddy got a Power Acoustic 2awg kit and that fucking wire was difinaly somewhere between 4 and 8awg. I know this happens, BUT HOW?! the gauge of a wire is very specific to it's diameter...a wire that is such and such thick is such and such gauge! the conductor dictates the gauge not the o.d. of the insulation!! i used to make the shit! i dont get how these cheap companies can just call it whatever the hell they want and get away with it

what if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

got to amazon.com and pick up the PG Akit1mr tibbs wrote:Yep, from what I hear the Kicker stuff is pretty good. You might want to look into a PG 1/0 kit if your in the market for a kit. I hear it's pretty nice as well.
keep in that it contains pg's loer end wire, which is still pretty nice, plus the battery terminal/fuseholder which is an awesome peice

that is a nice deal on the pg kit...only problem is that i'd have to get the 4awg and another disto block seperately since i'll be running the 250.2 also...i kinda wanna get that all together so i dont have to pay for the extra shipping and such...the krystal rca's are the only thng ill have to get seperately...thnx 4 the words dudes

well, i just checked things out again and it may actually be more cost effective to get the PG 1/0 kit. That kit, 20ft of knu 4awg, another disto block, and the 4 chnl krystal rca's will actually run me less than the kicker dual 1awg kit (plus rca's)...kick ass..

Disappointing that nobody seems to make a 1/0 gauge kit, that also includes a negative battery terminal and some extra 0 gauge ground wire, so that you can improve that connection as well.
If you can, you definitely should try to find the matching ground terminal. At the very least, ensure there is some sort of 0 gauge ground going from your battery to the frame. Otherwise all the power running down that 0 gauge will be limited by the teeny tiny wire grounding to your battery.

i think becasue at theat point it isnt really a "kit" that they can sell very effectivly. its usually a shop that just has all the wire in bulk. i know PG doesnt move a large amount of the 1/0 compared to the 4 and 8 awg kitsstipud wrote:Disappointing that nobody seems to make a 1/0 gauge kit, that also includes a negative battery terminal and some extra 0 gauge ground wire, so that you can improve that connection as well.
