Post by cornilion »

k i have the QX500.1d old phoenix

i have the chance to sell it to get a 600wattrms mono class d amp brand new.

now my old PG amp has a broken "volt rail cap" and its rly rly old..

im lookin at the infinity reference (611a) calss d. mono amp. now my question is. is this amp any good. or atleast a better upgrade form what i have?? should i keep my QX500.1d? please some good replys. i have 2 12's in a ported box at 2omhs running 600rms.

does anyoe have any experiences with this infinity amp (611a)???

i have no personal experience with it. but the parts on it look like fairly generic Asian built pieces, and at its price point i would guess its a fairly solid, yet standard class D amp, like your QX.

how much are they asking for the infinity?

Id suggest selling your amp, saving a bit more cash and buying a Rsd or 600.1

Although I love PG the QX amps are entry level. Sell it, do without for a payday or 2 and get somethign worthwhile

hmm...that seems super steep to me.

i know you like to buy from stores...but there are many PEOPLE here selling some used and even used gear for far lower.

i know there is a xenon 600.1 that was bought at the PG friends and family sale on the board right now for 200....that would put you $100 ahead of the infinity amp...and it would rip that 611a to peices....

not pushing a sale here...just my humble opinion. if you got scammed on the web before or something in understand your wryness.
