[HELP] Phoenix Gold MAC200...

Post by zig3n »

Dear All,

I'm a newbie in this forum and a big fan of PG stuff...and please excuse my language since I'm not from the US...thanks...

Recently I just bought 4 unit of Phoenix Gold MAC200 from a friend and I reliazed that it has two "Mini-Jack" input connector (Master & Slave) that usually had on a Class D Mono Amps for "Link-Bridged"...

My question is:
Are 2 (two) units of PG-MAC200 can be "Link-Bridged" as the Class D Mono Amps???

Is there anyone in here have tried to make a "Link-Bridged" on PG-MAC200?...I really love these amps, and doesn't wanted to blow these beauties...or maybe someone has the manual book for this "Link-Bridged" setup connection...

Thank you very much for your kind help  ...

Warm Regards,
ZIG3N

the plugs were to link the pwm power supplies using a master amp and then switching all the other amps to slaves.

what that did is sycronize the pwer supplies to reduce hedrodyne noise common with that amp especially when using older audiocontrol products.

its not a bridged switch or any other type of bridging system...

do not use since it was problematic with people using the wrong amp as
the master and also poor connections during operation causing pwr supplies to burn.
You may have subs in your car........but my doors sound better!

brenz is right on....this was not a feature to get more power from the amps, just a solution to minimize noise from the power supplies.

Thank you all for the explanation...so it's better not touching the switch...and just use it as it is...

Wows, back from the dead! Lol..

How effective was this balanced torrids feature when.ran properly? Has anyone.done it.just for the hell of it to hear/see/measure the results of this power supply timing feature.. Im sure it wont fuckup anything unless its blaintantly hooked up wrong.
Wouldnt it be IDEAL or beneficial using when making a custom Ms amp with multipal boards under the same hood? How about making some.shields out of thin sheets of deadsoft copper to.go around the torrids & powersuppy fet's & rec. Diode's...etc.
PG did it with the MPH amp, then gold plated them. Im learnt that the more shielding the better? Whereas some would say it's a waste of time, i look at it as im always building or modding somethings. And i love amps & analoge equipment..

Feel free to chime in about the sheilding in the various places it can be done to our preciously beloved amps.. Fuckit why not. What would be real COOL & id (donate) is if ( ERIC D ) would write up some diy how to's for ua proficient tinkerers on how to mod our amps for.certain things, power, sq , reliability, etc.... :bong:
