Just bought M100 + M25 S2

Post by Edgey »

I've just bought the above amps to power my front mids and tweeters.

I realise I'll probably need to replace the capacitors, what ones do I need to buy and how many will I need? Anything else I need to look for when I open them up?

Do a search on this forum and you should find most of the information you are after?

I did but people seemed to be using different to the origionals, and to be honest I know next to nothing about caps. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd be very greatful.

Thanks - what's the difference between those 5600 uf ones compared to the standard 2200 uf they come with?

Do the big blue ones need doing also?

Lucky I found this forum, my black ones are leaking a bit, they haven't discoloured the upper board yet though.

Thanks for potentially saving my amps!

when you are upgrading the amp from 6x2200µF to for example 6x4700µF you will have a power supply wich is more stabel. the 12v wich is connected to those caps will be more stabel, wich is offcource beter for the sound

I upgraded my outlaw from 6x2200µF to 6x4700µF for the m100 section, and from 3x2200µF to 4x4700µF for the m50 section. my MS1000 wich I will have in a month wil also be upgraded
some white pg shit in my thrunk, love it!

I see.....

I'm not really understanding what I actually need, if anyone fancies doing me a huge favor and telling me what to order from the link below I'd really appreciate it.

I've ordered 10 of the 5600uf ones so will have a couple of spairs. Can't find the big ones, will have to contact PG I think. Are the others as important?
