Repair Ti 500.4 or new RSD 500.4

Post by jasie02 »

My Ti 500.4 has developing a intermittent cold sensitive problem. 2 of channels will phase in & out if amp has not been used for couple hours or over night. This does not happen if in hot weather, when inside the car is already warm. This will also go away if I listen to it for a while, some time could last for 30min. When the weather gets colder, the problem gets worse.

This is for driving 2 tweeters & 2 mid for my front stage.

Wondering does it worth for me to send in to repair, or should I get a new RSD 500.4? I have seen some RSD 500.4 go for less than $250.

Open her up, and check to see the condition of the internals. Aslong as the internals arent burnt or damaged, then I would get it fixed. flat rate is 125 bux to get it fixed.

Welcome to the phorum. Sounds like a fairly minor problem worth fixing. One thing you can do yourself is (with the power off) try turning all the pots and switches up and down several times.

OK

I will try to open her up.

125 bux sounds reasonable.
